We
are a family run business located in the Cumbrian hills. Originally
opened in 1800 the smithy at Thortergill is now run by two blacksmith
brothers Andrew and David Johnson who produce some of the most
unique handforged ironwork in the country.
Come
and watch the blacksmiths work in the smithy as part of the "Thortergill
Experience". There are always an interesting ironwork project
underway, like the 'Chillingham Castle Bat' above.
